Alive and Working

Christmas was busy as ever full of family and fun.

Roads have been bad because of snow and lots of people driving.

However, I am still working. And I am still alive.

Mormon Tabernacle Christmas

I was thinking I could take it or leave it.

I had never heard David Archuleta sing before let alone see him perform.

But my mom got tickets because she loves this sort of stuff. I thought it would be enjoyable so I agreed to go.

Boy - it was AMAZING!!!!! The Mormon Tabernacle Choir was superb. David Archuleta really is just the cutest thing ever. After every song he would just grin and act so giddy (and a little awkward!?) and seemed so happy to be there. Michael York was an awesome story teller...

Everything was just awesome - the dancers, the orchestra, the songs. I honestly didn't expect to enjoy it so much. I am glad that I had my family there with me. My dad and I talked to each other pretty much the whole time telling each other what we loved and what we were thinking and what we were noticing. I loved that. (Don't worry - nobody around us was disturbed.)

I told my mom on the way home, "I never knew what the big deal about David Archuleta was... but now that I have seen him perform..." before I could finish she said, "Your a groupie!" lol. We established that in an earlier post. However - he was just fantastic. I hope lots of people got to go. If not - you should definitely purchase the DVD next Christmas. I know I will. And even if you think it's not your thing (like I did) you may just be surprised.

Thanks for the invite and the good time mom!

Radisson Downtown SLC

Friday night all the girls met up in Salt Lake and had a girls night out at the Radisson. I am so glad everyone is willing to part from their husbands, boyfriends, family, roommates and baby so that we can spend an entire night together talking and catching up. It was so much fun. We were only a few blocks from temple square and we were going to go see the lights but we ended up talking so much that we never left the hotel room. We did manage to go hot tub for a bit and continued the talk there but i think in the many hours we were together - there wasn't a moment of silence.

There is eight of us that were brought together randomly. Lindsey and I met in 2002 at CEU, Karina and Kjersten met in 2003 at Dixie and everyone else connected randomly and became roommates and friends at Utah State.

So since there was 8 of us we got 2 rooms (connected with the special door) and two beds in each. But we spent the entire night in one room eating Papa Johns pizza and lots of treats. We met at 6 o'clock PM, talked until 3 AM (some even later), slept until 8 AM, and checked out at 10:30 the next morning. Afterwards Linds at I played raquetball at the UofU field house and then headed home.

Here are some pictures of the evening:

lol - Trace and Mand were out before anyone else

I am grateful to have good friends. We were all so happy that this night worked for all of us so we could all be together!

Pajama Party

This year for Christmas Mike's family threw a pajama party. It was the first year they had done a Christmas pajama party and I thought it turned out amazing.

We met at Skyler & Catina's and exchanged pajamas. The highlight of the night was definitely Sherry getting adult footie pajamas from Alex. Everyone really liked their pajamas and it was fun to see how different they all were but how perfect they were for each person.

Whitney gave everyone a 14 day walk with Christ - which was perfect because there were 14 days until Christmas - and journals to write down our thoughts. The idea of the book is "The only way we can really know another person is to walk in his shoes, think what he thinks, learn what he knows, say what he would say, and do what he would do. Christ said 'be ye therefore perfect.' We can only accomplish this as we become like him." Every day has a scriptures and a thought about Christ's life. It has been a really fun daily activity to focus more on Christmas each day.

After changing into our pajamas we headed to Fat Cats for a little bowling and dinner.

We ate yummy Costa Vida food and then got our lanes and bowled for the next hour. Too bad my wrist starting hurting because then had to hold Tyrek while everyone else bowled :(
(*I guess let's be honest - I was sad that my wrist starting hurting because I only got to bowl 5 frames; however I wasn't that sad about holding Tyrek.)

I didn't take a ton of pictures because I had lost my battery charger (found it now) so my camera was brushing battery death the whole night. But I did manage to capture a few.

After Fat Cats we went back to take pictures in front of the tree and eat some Christmas treats. Here are a couple pics of Mike & I:

Sherry & Tyrek - I thought his pajamas were so cute with the characters on the feet

Thanks for the fun night and the enjoyable company!

Phonecall From Santa

I had Santa call Annika today. I called Alisha to make sure that Annika would be available to talk. It was SO MUCH fun! I got to customize what Santa said which made it so personal. Annika has an elf at her house named Christopher who watches her and tells Santa if she has been good. So I said that it was him who told Santa to call.

I got to talk to her after to hear how she liked it. Alisha said she loved it. There is a part where I selected for Santa to say that he will bring her a toy and Alisha said Annika said into the phone, "Don't forget to bring toys for Addie too!"

It was seriously so fun. Everyone should have Santa call their kids or nieces and nephews. Heck, I even had Santa call Mike and this is his response (I was at work so he texted), "Babe i just got a call from santa. I am so excited..."
lol. If you can only imagine his sarcasm.

It is fun. Go to:

Annika's Birthday

Sunday we celebrated Annika's 3rd birthday! She turns 3 in about a week but this was the best time for our family to get together. We had a lot of fun running around with her and playing with Adalyn. (Sad that I didn't take any pictures of her though huh?) I can't believe how old Annika is getting. I was looking at how tall she is getting and just thinking about how fast the time went by. We all did heavy heavy hangover and she wished us all something different - I was wished a new car. She opened up a number of things and I thought it was funny that as soon as she opened up her shoes - she wanted to put them on. Seems pretty girly to me. :)
We had lots of fun as usual. Here are some pictures of the event.
