Wind Caves (Fall & Winter in one day)

One of my favorite things about Logan that I like to share with others when the come to visit is Logan Canyon. It is so beautiful. One of my favorite hikes to go on is a short and simple 1.8 mile (3.6 mile roundtrip) hike to the Wind Caves. So when Tatiana said that she was coming to Utah and that she wanted to see the canyon I thought this hike would give her a great view.It sure did! It was a wonderful hike and we had tons of fun. Seeing the changing leaves was AMAZING and BREATHTAKING. It was so beautiful and so relaxing. However, after we had spent a few minutes enjoying the view from the caves it started snowing! It wasn't too bad; just chilly. I actually liked the look of the snow on the fall colored leaves. I thought it was BEAUTIFUL!!!
On the way back down I thought, "We should try taking another trail" and ventured off when he trail forked. Not a good idea. Especially since it had been snowing. I never wear "hiking shoes" since it's more of an uphill walk so neither did Tatiana. This alternate trail we took ended up taking us to some crazy ledges where the trail just disappeared. So we had to get down some steep hills and ended up falling numerous times and thanks to the snow we were in complete mud which caused us to slide down on our butts more than we would have liked. :^/

Still an enjoyable hike but after walking without a trail for about a mile I ventured off to find out where we needed to go to get back on the original. Thank goodness we found it and made it back safe and sound. :^D No more unmarked paths for me.
