Mesa Arch

We hiked (or walked) to Mesa Arch. It was so beautiful! The arch is pretty gigantic and you can walk right up to it. The only intimidating part is one you reach the arch - the ground ends and becomes a steep ledge plunging some 2,000 feet; ending at the Colorado River. I was comfortable and confident about myself going as close as I wanted to get a good picture, but it freaked me out to see my dad and Jordan get close to the edge. It truly was something else. The view was beautiful though. I loved seeing the snow-capped La Sal mountains in the distance. They created a beautiful view through the arch.

If you click on this picture (below) to see it larger you can see the Washer Woman Arch (because it looks like a woman doing wash), to the left of it is Monster Tower and behind them both is Airport Tower.

Me and my mom (the sun was SO bright)!

One of the things my dad kept pointing out was the layers in the Earth. You could see the way it was formed and in this picture - the lays must have been moved somehow because they became diagonal layers.

I loved this tree. Huge with awesomely long roots. It was old and you could also see the layers of earth built around the roots. It was pretty awesome and a spactacular sight.

Aztec Butte Trail

My family and I went to Moab a few weeks ago and decided to visit Canyonlands National Park. One of the hikes we went on was the Aztec Butte Trail. This trail is popular because it takes hikers to stone granaries that were made by the Puebloans. It was an easy hike, and we enjoyed it. Perfect hike to finish our trip!

St. George ... Coming Soon

I have been on a lot of weekend trips lately and have a lot to blog about. That's the problem with time... there isn't enough of it. Here are some pics to hold everyone over until I have a break to blog.

Surprise

Mike told me that he was going to bring me Drop Dead Diva season 2 tonight! I was so excited. He asked if I had eaten dinner yet and told me not to eat until he got there.

He surprised me with all of yesterday's groceries and made me stir-fry for dinner. He also made a lime sorbet fruit drink which was absolutely yummy (he knows how much I love lime)! He said that he wanted to do something special to kick off my birthday week. I was and am very thankful. He is so thoughtful and caring. I am so lucky that he does stuff like this for me on a regular basis.

The pictures don't really do it justice, but everything was fantastic!

Sunset Walk

Sunday was a really nice day and although there was snow, it was fairly warm. After church Mike and I decided to go on a walk around Sunset. We had lots of fun and found a very nice park that has a fishing pond. We stopped there for a bit to watch some ducks and then continued on our way. Had we known there were ducks, we would have taken some bread :^( so maybe next time...
Most of the pictures are of us... but here are some pictures of our day. Complete with some jumping photos because I have been working on my jumps. You never know when they will come in handy.
