Hoover Dam

For an English major I am either stupid or naïve. I kept trying to get the GPS to tell me where Hoover Damn was and it just kept saying there were no matches to that request. I texted Mike and asked him to google the address to Hoover Damn for me. He wrote back laughing, “lol, well for one thing you are searching for the wrong type of dam.”

I recently purchased a book – “100 Wonders of the World.” I have decided to make that list my life goal – I want to see all 100. Luckily I have already seen a fair amount so I feel like I am starting with an advantage. My family came down to see me in St. George for their spring break and “Hoover Dam” was in the book as one of the places I wanted (needed) to visit. They wanted to go to Vegas anyway, so why not visit Hoover Dam?

To tell you the truth I can’t say I was “excited” about Hoover Dam, I didn’t really know much about it. But after seeing it and learning about it – WOW!!!! I can see why it is proclaimed to be a wonder of the world.
